ECO-OBGEL is organophilic clay used as a viscosifier and gelling agent in the ECOMUL oil base mud systems. It is used to increase viscosity and carrying capacity of oil base systems to support barite and suspend cuttings generated while drilling. It also forms a slick filter cake and and provides filtration control.

ECO-OBGEL should be mixed in the ECOMUL oil base mud system when preparing fresh mud. Proper shear is required to develop viscositiy.
ECO-OBGEL should be mixed through the rig hopper. Treat the fresh mud system with 2-10 ppb. Treat system as needed during drilling operations to
provide viscosity.
